Of Ancient Egypt

                                 This is just what I was able to find after research.  If anyone has anything to
                                 add, please let me know.  Some of the books I read were confusing at best and
                                 others were vague in what the duty of each deity was.  I have done my best to
                                 organize them in an understandable form.
 
 
 
 

                        Aker: god of the earth
                         Anubis: god of death, judgement (after death), embalming,
                                    magic and divination
                        Astarte: goddess of war
                         Bast: goddess of the cat, protection, music, joy and dancing
                      Bes: god of good humor and merry-making; protector of
                                marriage and children
                         Buto: goddess of defense
                         Hathor: goddess of love, music, dance, motherhood, and
                                light-hearted pleasure
                         Heket:goddess of birth
                         Horus: god of the sun and sky
                         Imhotp: god of medicine and healing
                         Isis: goddess of fertility; great mother-goddess
                         Khonos: god of the moon
                         Maat: goddess of law, truth, reality, justice, and world order
                         Mafdet: goddess of punishment and the deceased
                         Methyer: goddess of primeval waters
                         Montu: god of war
                         Neith: goddess of war
                         Nephthys: protector goddess of coffins and canopis jars
                         Nut: sky goddess
                         Osiris: god of vegetation, burial, the netherworld and
                                    ressurection
                         Ra/Re/Amun-Ra: god of the sun
                         Renenutet: goddess of fertility and the harvest
                         Reshef: god of thunder
                         Satis: goddess of love and fertility
                         Sekhmet: lioness goddess of war, destruction, strife, and
                                        healing
                         Selket: goddess of the afterlife
                         Serapis: god of corn
                         Seshat: goddess of writing
                         Seshmu: god of perfume
                         Set/Seth: god of storms; god of cruelty and metals;
                                          thought to be evil and destructive
                         Shu: god of the air
                         Tauret: goddess of childbirth
                         Tefnut: goddess of moisture
                         Thoth: god of justice, the moon, measurement and science;
                                  the god of scribes and the scribe to the gods
                         Upuaut: wolf-headed god of war
